I2C Tools for Linux
As of version 3.0.0, the I2C tools that used to be part of the lm-sensors package have been split to a separate package. The rationale for that move is that not all hardware monitoring chips are I2C devices, and not all I2C devices are hardware monitoring chips, so having everything in a single package was confusing and impractical.
This is the latest release of the stable branch. All versions of Linux are supported, as long as I2C support is included in the kernel.

Discussion about i2c-tools takes place on the i2c mailing list.
If you have Subversion installed on your machine, you can check out the latest version of the stable code using the following command:
svn checkout http://lm-sensors.org/svn/i2c-tools/trunk i2c-tools
If you're not familiar with the use of Subversion we recommend the excellent Subversion book.
If you can't use Subversion, nightly snapshots are also available for download.
