Description
I need to downgrade to a 2.2 kernel and am having problems getting
my sensors to work. I am using a FICA VA-403+ board that has the
standard VIA VT82C586B ACPI device. Under 2.4 kernels, this showed
up under lspci, and by looking at /proc/pci. However, it doesn't show
up under my 2.2.19 kernel I have compiled and I am not sure what I need
to do to make it. I can still boot a 2.4 kernel and sensors work
fine. I get the following mesaages in the logs when trying to load
i2c-via: vt82c586b not found
Error while reading PCI configuration
Has anyone else had this problem? I know the documentation says
that the vt82c586b bridge must show up under lspci, so I assume that
is my problem. I am just not sure how to get it there, I tried
enabling USB like the doc says but it didn't help, only made a UHCI
device appear!
Thanks for any help!!! --- Yes you need it in lspci.
Perhaps you made a change in the BIOS to remove ACPI?
It should be in lspci (/proc/pci) no matter what kernel you are running.
Haven't heard of anybody else with this problem.
Sorry, doesn't sound like the problem is in our package.
If you need more help email sensors@… and
reference your ticket number.
