Description
My motherboard is a PCChips 599LMR, which uses the SiS530 chipset. The
i2c-sis5595 module loads and correctly finds that chip, however, nothing is
shown as being on that bus. Shouldn't the serial EEPROMs on my RAM be availible
here? If I modprobe eeprom, I get no "client register" messages. The sis5595
driver does load and detect the onboard sensors, although it says that it is on
the ISA bus. lm78 will also claim the device, if it is loaded first. I have
also tried the CVS version as of 6/8/2000, and the problem was still there.
The SDRAM eeproms do work, however, as I have used a windows program to retrieve
the information from them.
Thanks, and keep up the good work --- If they are not shown on 'i2cdetect' at addresses 0x50-0x57,
then they aren't there. Some boards have several i2c busses,
the eeproms are often on one accessible only to the BIOS,
or some other device which we don't have a driver for.
eeproms aren't very exciting anyway, so don't worry about it.
