Description
After sucessfully compiling and installing lm_sensors and launching it, I get
guepard:~# sensors
eeprom-i2c-0-51
Adapter: SMBus vt82c596 adapter at 5000
Algorithm: Non-I2C SMBus adapter
max1617-i2c-0-18
Adapter: SMBus vt82c596 adapter at 5000
Algorithm: Non-I2C SMBus adapter
temp: 0 C (limit: 0 C, hysteresis: 4 C) remote_temp:
0 C (limit: 60 C, hysteresis: 0 C) ALARM (N/A)
Visibly there is sole thing wrong. I suspect this is because there is no
configuration lines corresponding to the chips eeprom and max1617 (which are
detected by sensors-detect) in the defaults configuration file. So the
question is: how to create these lines. I have absolutely no idea. Please help
me. --- First of all, 2.4.4 is a pretty old version, you should get the
latest from our web site. In the newer versions you have
more output for eeprom.
sensors.conf is not your problem. You only need entries in
sensors.conf to set different limit/hysteresis values or to
do conversions.
I suspect that you don't really have a max1617 chip.
Look at your motherboard to be sure.
Perhaps the newer version will be able to correctly
identify the chip if you don't have a 1617.
Also send us the full output of 'sensors-detect' and the output
of 'prog/dump/i2cdump 0 0x18'
Follow up by sending mail to sensors@…
