Description
Hi there :)
I have a new Asus CUSL2 Motherboard - it has the intel 815e chipset, and an
Asus AS99127F monitoring chip on it.
I was just wondering when it is likely the 815e will be supported, and if there
is any information I can provide you with to help it become supported
regards
Gary Allpike
--- Congratulations, you are the first one to ask.
According to the Intel website, the 815E chipset
contains an 801 southbridge, which we support.
However, it is listed as a '82801BA'.
We support the AA and AB.
So perhaps we need to update sensors-detect and the i2c-i801 driver
to recognize it. Or perhaps there are changes.
You can help by telling us if sensors-detect recognizes the chip,
and if the i2c-i801 driver recognizes the chip and works.
If not, please send us the output of 'lspci -n'.
If you would like to do more, change the 2nd argument to one
of the pci_find_device calls in the driver to match
your chip, then install and see if it works.
In the meantime, I'll download the datasheet and look
for any differences.
Followup by sending mail to sensors@…
and referencing ticket #368.
