Description

This is a freshly compiled and installed 2.3.5 kernel, which seems to be a nice

version. However, I get errors similar to those in messages 88, 89, 90, and 92 when I try to compile and or use lm-sensors. I get the MUTEX problem with matorb, so I just commented that puppy out, and even though eeprom was cranky about compiling, everything besides matorb seems to have compiled. when I insmod various items (i2c-dev, for example), I get the unresolved symbol i2c_adapter_id message, and for other modules I get that message and some along the lines of /lib/modules/2.3.5/misc/i2c-via.o: unresolved symbol i2c_bit_add_bus_R08a59765 /lib/modules/2.3.5/misc/i2c-via.o: unresolved symbol i2c_bit_del_bus_Rf0bd7c34 The motherboard is Alton with a primarily SiS chipset. --- MUTEX with matorb: you are right. It is fixed in the current CVS. Sorry for that. eeprom cranky: this is probably the version in the i2c directory. It is out of our control (it is part of Simon Vogl's i2c package). Just ignore. insmod failing: still a mystery. Please check that your modutils are up-to-date.
