Description
I just plopped in the new 2.4.0-test2 linux kernel and realized I had to upgrade
lm_sensors in order to use it with this new kernel (I've been happily using
1.4.12 for a while now. GREAT JOB, BTW!).
I compiled 2.5.1 and it compiled and installed fine. The detect program found my
chipset fine and gave me the lines for conf.modules (which I already had in
there). I have the w83781d chipset on an ALI1583 MB (ASUS, I believe...or Abit.
Can't remember). The temperature and fan readings come out perfectly, but no
matter how I modify sensors.conf in /etc, I cannot set the min limits on
anything nor the hyst settings for temperatures. And, having an AMD K3 CPU, it
runs hotter than the pentiums and so I need to adjust these values. Just curious
if you've heard of this problem/know how to fix it.
I've tried both the i2c drivers in the 2.4.0 kernels and the ones provided on
your website (they seem almost identical except for i2c-core).
Any advice would be appreciated. --- Glad to have you finally upgrade!
After you change the values in sensors.conf,
you have to run (as root) 'sensors -s'.
On the off chance that this doesn't fix it, you can follow up
by sending mail to sensors@… and referencing
ticket #353.
