Reported by: ticket Owned by: somebody
Priority: major Milestone:
Component: kernel Version:

Description

No way for me to have lm-sensor working, since all the time I got the same answer from the support "...sorry you've an hidden SMBus. Unhide it patching the kernel and have a look into the quirk.c file".

Please, can you give to me some more help in order to apply the proper patch the kernel?

The last detailed ticket opened on that is the following:

Please, help me. Just give more information how/where ask for some support.

Thank you so much With my best regards, mr.mlucci@…

I've taken a look at the DSDT attached to ticket #2256. There's a lot of code dealing with the SMBus there. Thus it is not safe to unhide the SMBus on this laptop. You have to use ACPI for hardware monitoring instead.

Same here. Could you please give to me more details where I can found documentation for using ACPI in hardware monitoring issues?

Thanks MLucci

What's the point of opening two tickets for the same problem? This is a duplicate of ticket #2256, please do not reopen.

The point is quite simple. I did not get any answer from a long time, so I decided to open a new one with more details thinking the problem was related in missing some important informations. Now I got 2 answers in the same time. What I have to do, sir?

Ok, close this ticket and proceed with the other (#2256), no problem for me. But please! Don't forget to give some help I'm asking from a long time.

Good work, Massimo
