Support for the Fintek F71882FG is available in kernel 2.6.23-rc8-mm2. User-space support is available in lm-sensors 2.10.4 (and 3.0.0-rc1.)

Is this also true for the recently released 2.6.23 vanilla, or only for the -mm tree for now?

The f71882fg driver is still not in 2.6.23. It will be in 2.6.24, as you can read in the Devices page.
