Well the driver claims that none of the HW monitoring features of the chip are enabled. Can you please run the attached lpcdump script as follows and post the output?

lpcdump --enter=0x55 --ldn=0xa

Juerg, where does this "lpcdump" script come from?

Usually I tell people to use isadump to dump LPC configuration space registers. In this case the options would be:

isadump -k 0x55 0x2e 0x2f 0xa

Jean,

lpcdump is home-grown. I didn't know that isadump can handle LPC chips. Darn, would have saved me some time.

Oh well, one learns new things every day...

Same issue here with a FSC D1289 mainboard, lm-sensors 2.10.1 and Linux 2.6.18 (Debian 4.0). I'm attaching the output of "isadump -k 0x55 0x2e 0x2f 0xa". Feel free to email me at microschulz at web dot de.

The register dump shows that the chip is not setup to monitor/control the fan pins. Does the BIOS provide any fan RPM information? If yes, there must be another chip in the system that provides this information.
