Description

Has anyone gotten lm-sensors to work with CentOS 5,64 bit kernel? Using version 2.10-3.1. I have found that on multiple CentOS 5 servers, the FATAL: Module i2c_piix not found message is coming up when we modprobe i2c-piix4. This is a Tyan 3870 motherboard.

Smells like a user error. Just run sensors-detect to find out what sensors (if any) your server has, and load the required kernel drivers. I would be very surprised that your OS doesn't provide them (in particular i2c-piix4) but if it is the case, then you'll have to rebuild your kernel with the missing modules if you want to use lm-sensors.
