Description

sensors say no sensors found.. I'm using Toshiba Satellite M100-222 laptop, Kubuntu Feisty. lm-sensors version 2.10.1-2ubuntu2 kernel version 2.6.20-15-generic

You simply appear not to have usable sensors on this system, which is rather frequent on laptops. Try ACPI instead for temperature information (acpi -t). There's also a dedicated ACPI driver for Toshiba laptops (toshiba_acpi), which apparently reports the fan status.
