FATAL error inserting w83627efh (path) no such device

Description

openSuSe 10.2 kernel 2.6.18.2-34 on Asus P5B deluxe lm_sensors was installed with YAST - w/o problems -sensors-detect ran fine and detected w83267efh. Installation advice of sensors detect could be followed with some forum research. Result : Fatal error inserting w83627efh (path) no such device. The module is available at the end of (path). Modprobe shows same result. i2c-core, i2c-isa, hwmon are loaded. modprobe -force did not help. ..and, yes, I was root. I do not want to touch the kernel because this would end any support. Is there any simple fix to this problem such as a new module? I have searched the internet with frustrating results at least for my knowledge. best regards Andreas

Hello,

You have similar chip w83627DHG which is supported in 2.6.21. For older kernels you will need a patch:  http://www.lm-sensors.org/wiki/Devices
