Which hardware chips and kernel versions do you need support for exactly?

The W83627HG is the lead-free version of the older W83627HF chip, both chips are supposedly 100% compatible. This chip is supported for a long time on both 2.4 and 2.6 kernels (driver w83627hf), you should be able to get it to work already. Isn't it the case?

The W83627EHF/EHG is a more recent chip, we have preliminary support since kernel 2.6.13, and complete support since kernel 2.6.18 (driver w83627ehf). There is no 2.4 kernel support at the moment.

We always welcome hardware donations, but we first need to know for sure what hardware you have. Beware that the various Winbond hardware monitoring chips have very similar names, but are sometimes very different and need different drivers, so please make sure you get the chip names right.
