Ticket 235 and 229 (Examined/Solved - lm_sensors 2.4.3)

Description

I can load the driver fine, but nothing shows up in the proc, it seems that sensors-detect doesnt show it though, I know I have a chip, because I referred to the link given on ticket 229, and that page said the k7 ga-7ix mobo had the w8138d or something which is supported by lm_sensors. I think I am missing something in the module loading. --- If you follow the instructions of sensors-detect, module loading should be fine. You need to load an adapter driver (i2c-isa.o, i2c-piix4.o or some other one) and the chip driver (w83781d.o in your case). Both must be loaded with 'modprobe'. And that is it. If you follow the flowchart, you will probably find out what the problem is. Remember that on some hardware, sensor chips are an optional extra, so they may simply not be fitted to your mainboard.

Frodo

(20000110) It turned out he needed the new AMD756 driver, and as we heard nothing more, we assume it worked out.
